Artificial Intelligence in Dental Education and Research: Opportunities and Challenges
How can AI change dental education and research? How are tools like ChatGPT changing how dental students learn, and what do dental educators think? What policies are universities setting for the use of AI in education? When it comes to research, what can AI do, and what are its limitations?
This presentation will focus on two main topics: the impact of AI in dental education and its applications in dental research. Attendees will learn how AI can improve teaching and learning in dentistry and how AI can make research processes more efficient, with practical examples of searching, summarizing, editing, and submitting manuscripts using AI tools.g.

Sergio Uribe, DDS, MSc in Radiology, and PhD in Medical Sciences, is an Associate Professor at Riga Stradins University in Latvia and a Visiting Professor at LMU Klinikum Munich, Germany.
He serves on the Journal of Dental Research and Dental Traumatology editorial boards. In 2007, Prof. Uribe received the IADR Research in Prevention Award.
His research areas include diagnostic imaging, cariology, meta-research, e-oral health, and artificial intelligence in dentistry.
Prof Uribe is one of the editors of the forthcoming Springer book AI in Dentistry, co-author of three books, and a researcher with more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and several conferences worldwide.
